Wanted to play around a bit with Xfire Video Recording. It does a pretty good job.

First… ArkInventory rules/pwns/is awesome etc. Aah… I just had to get that one out there, now on to the “rules” part

ArkInventory is a a bag replacement for World of Warcraft which gives you a massive amount of options to sort and order the contents of your bags and bank. The way ArkInventory does this is by splitting the bags into sections according to the users desire. For example have a section with all your tradeskill items, another for all your trash etc.

ArkInventory is plenty as is for most people just using categories. Using rules makes it even greater. With rules it is possible to specify multiple criteria for how the sections should handle items. Here ar my favorite rules.

Managed Equipment – This rule will create a section where all equipment, which is part of an equipment set (be that Outfitter or Blizzards own Equipment Manager):

Soulbound Equipment, unmanaged – This rule keeps track of all the gear that are no part of an equipment set:

Idols – I’m a druid so this is to keep all my collected idols nice and orderly:

Trinkets – This handles your trinkets:

Tabards – With Wrath of the Lich King tabards actually became useful. This rule will give you control of them:

Tradeskill Tools – Keep track of that Pick, Skinning Knife, Enchanting Rod etc.:

Spell Power and MP5 – This keeps track of all the items that have Spell Power or MP5. Similar approach can be used for other stats:

There’ll always be people in online games who will attempt all kinds of tricks to get easy money. The safest way is often to prey on those that aren’t looking close enough on the prices, because as the Game Masters say “All trades are final“. Here’s a good, albeit not very likely to get them anything, example:

I don’t even pity the people who fall for tricks like this, they should just wake up and look/read before pressing trade/buy etc. although I do think that the people trying to scam still should be punished somehow by the Game Masters, because World of Warcraft is really too poor a community that blacklisting a person would ever work.

So my guild have asked which World of Warcraft bosses each of us were done with, so they could plan accordingly in recards to who should be substitutes (due to not needing any gear) and what targets to go after. As a result I messed around with a little plugin called ItemStats JavaScript from WoWHead.

Originally made for EQDKP, the plugin have evolved to be a plugin for just about every online media such as BBs CMS and a few blogs (WordPress being one). After messing around with the finer details of the plugin and WordPress (it was not working well together), I'm now ready to start my "upgrades" list.. Read more...

It takes 3 seconds to summon a mount and at level 70 everyone should have a flying mount. Due to lag (the server and client needs to synchronize) it will take about 1 second (maybe less, maybe more depending on how much lag) from you resurrect until you’ll actually be visible to the people around you. That leaves only approximately 2 seconds for the opponent to spot you, target you and get you in combat so you can’t mount up. If you’re smart you find a spot where the opponent can’t see you, or just as far from the opponent as it’s possible, then resurrect while spamming the mount button and you’re 9 out of 10 mounted and flying before the opponent can get you in combat.

I guess what I found most amusing is the fact the guy acknowledged that Warlocks are probably the strongest class in World of Warcraft, especially in PvP, yet still seeking assistance to kill the Hunter. Sure a Beastmaster Hunter could win if the cooldown is off The Beast Within (which is 2 minutes), but in many cases would still be hard pressed against a decent geared Demonoligy Warlock.

Why is it that you can’t play a MMOG, and this goes especially for World of Warcraft, without getting ninja invites to either groups, or guilds? Some people apparently think that someone surely needs a guild, if they’re level 70 and not in one already.

Normally I just click “Decline” and ignore it, sometimes I send a “polite” whisper to the offender. With group invites these usually goes ignored (and I usually don’t send anywhispers to those) because they’re often from random_spambot_11237. Anyways, this time the offender responded, and follows here (I’ve cut and pasted it, so that irrelevant background chatter isn’t there):

So I’m doing a bit of Warsong Gulch and I’m happily running towards the Alliance side, to find the enemy flag carrier in the attempt to get our own flag returned, and apparently the enemy flag carrier was running behind me, and I was obviously looking ahead, towards the enemy (alliance) ahead of me. Then some elitists moron starts spewing all over..

I got myself Dark Messiah and Neverwinter Nights 2, so I’ve been M.I.A. from EverQuest lately while playing those new games

So what are my first impressions?

Dark Messiah of Might and Magic is in one word: Awesome!
The graphics are great, the effects on the weapons and spells are nice. The way you fight is not exactly new, but very well implemented, the moves are done very well. The storyline could use a bit of work, I think you’re too locked into whether you’re good or evil.

Neverwinter Nights I can’t really say much about at this time, a few things I can say though. The controls are simply put horrific. The camera is annoying, not at all like you’re used to in the original Neverwinter Nights. Also the story seems a bit too rigid, I mean when I create a Lawfull Evil Drow, I don’t expect to have been raised by a goodly man (wizard? priest?).
